Month of hands-on help for community projects

Free seeds initiative to spur on Bath gardeners

Free seeds are being offered as a call to arms goes out to gardeners in the Bath and North East Somerset area.

Entries are now being invited for the annual Bath in Bloom contest, which helps the city look its best for the regional floral competition South West in Bloom.

Bath has won awards at regional level for the past two years but just missed out on the national glory which it has enjoyed in the past.

Record rise in local recycling rates announced

The largest ever annual rise in local household recycling rates has been recorded by our Waste Services Team. Homes are now recycling over half of their waste – 52% compared to 46% last year.

More litter pickers take pride in their community

Litter picking volunteers in Westmoreland supported by Bath & North East Somerset Council came out in force last week in the latest effort by people to clean-up their communities and make them proud places to live.
