Bath and North East Somerset Council has launched a new, small grants scheme designed to support improvements to a local area or neighbourhood. There is a particular focus on public realm projects such as community gardening and enhancing publicly accessible spaces.
The amount of funding available has been based on an allocation of 50p for each resident. This has provided a sum per parish, with a minimum of £250 available. There is also a lump sum for the un-parished area of Bath. Match funding will be required but this can take the form of volunteer time or expertise.
Anyone interested in applying will need to obtain endorsement for their idea from their local Town or Parish Council. For Bath, endorsement will need to come from the Bath City Forum and they can be contacted via the Council's Community Engagement Team in the Strategy and Performance Service (contact details on the left).
The deadline for applications is 31st January 2018.
Application form and guidance notes can be downloaded from the Council website.
