Free climate change advice for farms and rural businesses in the Cotswolds AONB

Businesses in the Cotswolds AONB can now access a specialist advice service to help them reduce their carbon footprint and costs. The Cotswolds Conservation Board with support from the National Grid has appointed a Climate Change Advisor to help promote and deliver a wide range of resource management and renewable energy activities.

How does the service work?

Our Climate Change Advisor will visit your business and work with you to:

  • Improve awareness and understanding of resource management and renewable energy business opportunities
  • Assess your energy/ resource use, and undertake a carbon audit action plan
  • Provide intensive 1-1 support to reduce your business risks, costs, carbon emissions and environmental impact
  • Up to date advice on the latest funding initiatives and investment opportunities
  • Business action planning, project management, and bid writing

The carbon audit and action plan is specifically tailored to your business. If implemented effectively it could help you:

  • Reduce your energy use through low cost measures which will save you money

James Lloyd is an experienced business advisor and has assisted over 100 economic development projects funded through the rural renaissance and Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) grant programmes.  He is qualified in housing and development having studied at the University of the West of England, Bristol, and also holds a (PRINCE 2) qualification.

This role, funded by National Grid, is helping businesses in the Cotswolds to effectively plan and adapt to climate change by undertaking a range of practical actions and demonstration activities that reduce their costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
